Jane Sinclair Elected Chair of the AdvantAge Ontario Board of Directors

Toronto, ON (May 27, 2019) – The AdvantAge Ontario Board of Directors is pleased to announce the election of Jane Sinclair as Chair.

Ms. Sinclair is the General Manager, Health and Emergency Services, at the County of Simcoe. She is responsible for overseeing four long term care homes and a continuum of senior services that includes Georgian Village, a state-of-the-art, 60+, adult lifestyle community, which offers long term care; retirement living, life lease, and affordable housing; a community centre; and an adult day program.

Ms. Sinclair has a 21-year career with the County, first serving as Director of Resident Care and as Senior Homes Administrator before assuming her current role in 2005.

Jane is a graduate of the diploma nursing program from Georgian College, holds an undergraduate degree in nursing from York University, a master of nursing degree from the University of Toronto, and has completed the AdvantAge Ontario Administrator Leadership Program. Jane first joined the Board in 2014 as the Community Service Representative and was selected as Vice Chair of the Board in 2017.

“With an aging population and a rapidly changing health care paradigm that encompasses added complexities specific to certain districts across our province, there are boundless opportunities before us to be an influential voice for not-for-profit long term care, housing, and community services for seniors in Ontario,” says Ms. Sinclair. “I am both honoured and humbled to take on this role and look forward to working with our Board, staff, and this critical sector in being leaders in our communities and our health care system.”

AdvantAge Ontario is the trusted voice for senior care. We are community-based, not-for-profit organizations dedicated to supporting the best possible aging experience. We represent not-for profit, charitable, and municipal long term care homes, seniors’ housing, and seniors’ community services. For 100 years, AdvantAge Ontario and our members have been building the future of senior care in Ontario.
