Toronto, Ontario, May 16, 2024 - The AdvantAge Ontario Board of Directors is pleased to announce the election of Dr. Steven Harrison as Chair.
Steven is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Tri-County Mennonite Homes, a multi-site seniors’ care and developmental disabilities organization in southwestern Ontario.
With over 20 years of experience in healthcare and social services, Steven brings both a national and international leadership style to his work, having earned his PhD in Medical Anthropology and Community/Public Health at the University for Toronto, and having provided operational leadership throughout the Americas, Southeast Asia, and Africa.
With a passion for innovative and inclusive service delivery, Steven engages individuals in the provision of high-quality compassionate care to the most vulnerable. His career has included leadership in addictions and mental health, developmental services, primary and community care, academic health sciences and medical policy arenas. He is driven by a commitment to sustainable change management and creating opportunities through disruptive innovation.
“This is a pivotal time in our sector. There is a huge need, and opportunity, for positive change to address demographic changes and provide people with the care choices they need and want as they get older,” says Harrison. “In my new role as Chair, I am looking forward to collaborating with fellow Board members, association staff, members, and stakeholders, to advocate for changes that will make a difference in the lives of seniors across the province.”
