Statement by Lisa Levin, CEO of AdvantAge Ontario, the association that represents Ontario’s not-for-profit and municipal LTC homes:
"We appreciate that the Government has continued to consult the not-for-profit LTC sector on changes to COVID-19 protections.
While COVID-19 continues to evolve in Ontario, the pandemic is not over for the long-term care sector. A significant number of homes are in active outbreak at this moment due to COVID and other respiratory infections.
Our member homes remain active and are vigilantly keeping their vulnerable residents safe. But they need support. That is why we continue to need targeted, permanent funding aimed at preventing and controlling infectious illnesses in our homes. AdvantAge Ontario has been advocating strongly for permanent infection prevention and control (IPAC) funding."
