Statement by Lisa Levin, CEO of AdvantAge Ontario, on the Ontario Budget 2023:
“AdvantAge Ontario is pleased to see in today’s budget significant investments for long-term care targeting key areas of need. Top among these are new funding for infection prevention and control leads in every long-term care home, much-needed resources for staff education and training, and increases to tackle the major inflationary pressures facing homes – most notably rapidly rising food costs.
These are all priorities that our Association raised in the lead up to the budget, and we appreciate the government’s response to our advocacy.
In the coming days, we look forward to getting more details regarding investments for seniors’ care to support our members in their dedicated efforts to provide quality care for the province’s most vulnerable people.”
