 Lisa McVety, Administrator/Director of Operations, Lakeridge Gardens

Lisa McVety has 3+ decades of service at Lakeridge Health. A life-long learner, Lisa has enjoyed many roles within the corporation, leading to her present job as Director of Operations, Administrator. Lisa has played a vital role within Lakeridge Gardens from concept to completion. The 14 months were challenged with supply issues, severe weather as well as COVID. Lisa’s passion for healthcare and healthy aging inspires her team, families and residents to be engaged and involved in the delivery of quality care. 
 
Brian Taylor, Manager, Environmental Services, Lakeridge Gardens

Brian Taylor, Manager of Environmental Services, is well known throughout the LTC industry. He has over 30 years in managerial experience leading teams as well as mentoring countless people. Brian came to Lakeridge Gardens bringing his advanced knowledge of LTC, as well as inspiring staff to always do more and be resident focused. Brian jumped at the opportunity to work at Lakeridge Gardens, a state-of-the-art facility, and plays an active role in team building, secure home as well as Emergency Preparedness.   
 


Jayne Grills, Director, Colliers Project Leaders

Jayne Grills brings over 17 years of project management experience, with a specialization in healthcare, including small and large hospitals, community health centres, mental health & additions projects. She has extensive expertise in leading all aspects of new construction and renovation projects and major capital initiatives, from commencement to project close-out. Her expert leadership has enabled her to pull together integrated teams to undertake all stages of project planning and development.  Jayne’s ability to bring a “big picture” focus to project assignments and to think things through the client lens ensures that the project team is focused on optimal performance, while applying innovative solutions to project challenges and mitigating risk. Her passion for customer satisfaction and quality outcomes provides certainty as success. Her broad knowledge of applicable building codes, Infection control, and Ministry requirements provides her with an excellent understanding of all aspects of construction to deliver project certainty — every time.
 


Andrew Rodrigues, Senior Project Manager, Colliers Project Leaders


Since joining Colliers Project Leaders in 2017, Andrew has worked on numerous long-term care redevelopment projects including Bruyère Complex & Continuing Care and the Prescott-Russell Residence. He has a passion for healthcare which he combines with his engineering knowledge, project management and advisory services expertise to deliver LTC mandates.  Andrew’s clients appreciate his analytical problem-solving and decision-making abilities, particularly as he uses these skills to assist clients with Ministry of Health relations and securing project approvals.

As a Seniors and LTC Advisor, Andrew brings provides project management services for the planning and design development phases of projects. This includes managing the overall design development in parallel with the Ministry’s review for the additional beds. Andrew understands the importance of integrating project financial reviews and updates at key design development milestones and has provided updates to Council at the Client’s request.

Andrew has a Master of Health Administration (MHA) Degree from the University of Ottawa and B. Eng, Mechanical from McGill University. He lives in Ottawa with his wife and two young children.


Erin Nisbet, Project Manager, Colliers Project Leaders

Erin Nisbet brings over 10 years of experience in construction project management and project planning within a variety of unique settings including private residential, university research spaces and acute care hospitals. She also brings the ability to develop and maintain collaborative and productive relationships that are essential to successful project facilitation and completion.

Her project delivery method always centers around each member of the project team feeling valued in their contribution and able to learn where possible.  Everyone is encouraged to engage in discussions and ask questions to help foster a trusting and productive project team. 

 


Jennifer Cornell, Director of Long-Term Care, Corporation of the County of Grey

Jennifer Cornell is the Director of Long-Term Care with the County of Grey, responsible for 3 Long Term Care Communities; Lee Manor in Owen Sound, Grey Gables in Markdale and Rockwood Terrace in Durham. She is a respected long-term care and health system leader with over twenty years of progressively senior leadership roles. Jennifer is a transformational leader focused on quality care and service initiatives, team development and growth. She has harnessed the County of Grey “Colour It Your Way” philosophy to bring about positive change through impactful relationships, inspiration, orchestration and facilitation. 



Susan Drew, Market Segment Manager, Senior Living and Behavioral Mental Health, Altro Americas

Susan is the Market Segment Manager - Altro Americas. A graduate of the University of Alberta’s School of Business with her Evidence Based Design Accreditation and Certification and almost 20 years’ experience in the flooring/walling industry, Susan understands the importance of human centered design and product development. In the past 7 years, she has collaborated with the A&D community and end user groups across North America accumulating insight to the unique challenges of Healthcare Design, especially as it relates to behavioural mental health and senior care environments. Susan’s passion is discovering, and sharing with others, solutions in the built environment that benefit our health and wellbeing.

Barbara Michalik, Executive Director of Academic, Community Partnerships and Programming, The Rekai Centres

Barbara Michalik is a graduate of the Social Service Worker-Gerontology program at Seneca College, with a Bachelor of Arts-Sociology Degree from York University.  Barbara is the Executive Director of Community, Academic Partnerships and Programming at the Rekai Centres (Sherbourne Place and Wellesley Central Place LTC in downtown Toronto) and has been with the organization since 2008. She is also a part-time Faculty Advisor in the Social Service Worker Gerontology Program at George Brown College and continues to lecture at various academic affiliates.  She chairs numerous committees and is has been responsible for significant innovations at the Rekai Centres which have been recognized across Canada.  

These innovations include National Occupational Classification (NOC) changes to express entry for Healthcare Workers applying for immigration status in Canada, Palliative Care & End of Life Program with the TC-LHIN, Academic Preceptorship Model, PSW academic curriculum changes, Dementia Care and Inclusivity for 2SLGBTQI+ seniors in LTC. 

The Rekai Centres officially launched the first 2SLGBTQI+ Rainbow Wing in LTC in North America to support seniors on June 18th, 2022.   This initiative of a unit and inclusivity throughout the Rekai Centres has been a journey since 2009.  It has been filled with consistent education, community involvement and partnerships.  See attached Rainbow Unit description.
