Holland Christian Homes
7900 McLaughlin Road
Brampton, ON L6Y 5AY

Shift work, hierarchies, cultural diversity, and operational demands can contribute to interpersonal conflict and power imbalances in senior care teams. Equip yourself with the knowledge and practical tools to foster a respectful work environment, prevent workplace discrimination and harassment, and effectively address complaints when they arise.

This full-day training will connect key legislation and compliance to practical leadership strategies and demonstrate how to integrate principles of psychological safety, neutrality and procedural fairness into each stage of complaint response and investigation. Sector-specific  case discussions and guided self-reflection exercises will strengthen your confidence in managing complex interpersonal dynamics while modelling the accountability and respect that is fundamental to a healthy workplace culture.

  • Review and understand relevant legislation (Occupational Health and Safety Act,  Ontario Human Rights Code), key definitions and the difference between workplace conflict and harassment.
  • Identify responsibilities and clarify reporting obligations for employers and supervisors.
  • Reinforce your knowledge about how to receive and assess complaints and learn about investigation best practices.
  • Discuss behavioural profiles and power dynamics in unionized environments; examine your own bias and influence.
  • Learn prevention strategies and ways to sustain continuous improvement.
