2:00 PM – 3:00 PM EST
Free, Members-Only Webinar
Pressure injuries remain a significant challenge in long-term care settings, impacting resident quality of life and increasing care complexity and costs. This webinar provides a practical, evidence-informed approach to building and strengthening a comprehensive pressure injury prevention plan tailored to long-term care environments.
Participants will explore key considerations for selecting appropriate support surfaces including how to match surface features to individual resident risk factors, mobility levels, and care goals. The session will also address seating surface selection, with a focus on optimizing posture, pressure redistribution, and comfort in day-to-day care.
In addition, the webinar will highlight the role of microclimate management in maintaining skin integrity. Attendees will gain insight into tools and strategies that help regulate heat and moisture at the skin interface, as well as the impact of textiles—such as bed linens and mobility tools on friction, shear, and overall skin health.
This session is ideal for clinicians, care leaders, and interdisciplinary team members seeking actionable solutions to enhance pressure injury prevention in long-term care homes.
