Federal budget offers limited support for seniors

The release of the federal budget on Tuesday provided some support for seniors yet much more work is required to truly address their needs. AdvantAge Ontario was pleased to see movement towards a national pharmacare program, and we are hopeful that the advisory will move quickly to design and implement a national program that will benefit a large number of seniors. We also noted $20M in new funding for community-based dementia care projects as well as continued momentum on Canada Pension Plan enhancements. Each of these commitments is a positive first step, and we will continue to advocate strongly for further investments to support our aging population.
