Ontario’s seniors population is growing at an unprecedented rate, yet our health and social services are not prepared to meet the needs of this critical demographic. The upcoming provincial election is an important opportunity to bring attention to seniors’ issue so that it is a top priority for all political parties.
AdvantAge Ontario is co-hosting a special election forum on April 23 in Toronto with key organizations interested in senior’s issues so that we can jointly engage provincial politicians in a dialogue about seniors’ care.
André Picard, Globe and Mail health reporter, will host a discussion with invited representatives from the Liberal, Progressive Conservative, New Democrat, and Green parties on their plans for addressing the future care and service needs of Ontario’s seniors.
This event will be co-hosted with other organizations representing seniors and providers of care and services across the continuum: Family Councils Ontario, Home Care Ontario, Ontario Association of Residents’ Councils, Ontario Caregiver Coalition, Ontario Community Support Association, Ontario Long Term Care Association, and Ontario Retirement Communities Association.
