Lisa Levin, CEO of AdvantAge Ontario, released the following statement on the new Health Care Funding Plan
"We are pleased to see movement on a long-term, stable funding agreement between Ottawa and the provinces.
As attention shifts to a bilateral agreement between the Federal government and Queen’s Park, politicians must ensure that the net new funding is used for net new initiatives in long-term care. We want funding that will truly advance the level and quality of care we can offer seniors. That includes funding for a broader array of staff, including physiotherapists, social workers, and investments to support homes in transitioning to emotion-focused models of care. We also want funding for new technologies that will make residents’ lives easier and safer.”
AdvantAge Ontario has been the trusted voice for not-for-profit senior care for over 100 years and is the only provincial association representing the full spectrum of the senior care continuum. Our more than 480 members are located across the province and include not-for-profit, charitable, municipal, and hospital-affiliated long-term care homes, seniors’ housing, assisted living in supportive housing, and community service agencies.
