> Understand the different funding envelopes and associated policies and recent changes, including per diem funding, occupancy and acuity-adjustment policy, cash flow policy and the new Transfer Payment Ontario (TPON) system.

> Get updates about the transition to the interRAI Long-Term Care Facilities assessment tool, use of the Case Mix Index (CMI), and hear best practices for budget development and presentation.

Lauren Egar is the manager of the Staffing Unit in the Strategic Initiatives Branch at the Ministry of Long-Term Care (MLTC). Lauren joined the ministry in 2021 and currently oversees initiatives related to recruitment and retention in long-term care. Lauren has almost 15 years of experience working for the provincial government, and has held various roles in the Ministry of Health and Treasury Board Secretariat.

Abonti Mukherjee joined the Funding and Programs Branch at the Ministry of Long-Term Care in 2021. Since then, she has worked closely on resident co-payments, the LTC Rate Reduction Program, and other initiatives to support long-term care residents such as the Preferred Accommodation Top-Up. She has previously worked in the Ministry of Transportation on the Community Transportation Grant Program. Abonti is a graduate from the University of Toronto where her studies focused on health policy, urban public policy and sociology.
