Special session led by Nicole Minutti, Senior Health Policy Advisor with the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario

As AI use grows in health care, so do privacy risks. This session focuses on essential considerations for procuring, implementing, and using AI in LTC/seniors’ care, including how AI is being used today, what privacy challenges it presents, and how it aligns with legislative obligations. Participants will also explore the fundamentals of an effective AI governance and accountability framework to support confident, responsible adoption.

Through this session, deepen your understanding about:

• The obligations of LTC/seniors’ care under Ontario’s privacy laws related to procuring, implementing, and using AI systems.

• Privacy considerations regarding the use of AI systems in the seniors’ care sector.
  
• The recommended components of a strong organizational AI governance and accountability framework.
  
• Other safeguards that custodians should consider putting in place to protect personal health information that is collected, used, or disclosed through an AI system.

Cancellations: Cancellations will be accepted up to five working days prior to the date of the program less a 15% administration fee that will apply regardless of the status of payment. Registrants who fail to attend the program or cancel after the deadline date shall be liable for the full fee. There is no charge for delegate substitutions. The AdvantAge Ontario Education Department reserves the right to cancel or reschedule this program.
